playing with the ideas and trying

Playing with the layout function with the yes and no button to work and with the layout.

If i put the button section after the div section that I had made for this group, it won't work where the text will be cut off and than if i put it before everything, it will make the cut off word that the button going over to a new lane of text.

I am trying to get the buttons to work where it will stay on the highlight colour yes or no when they clicked and when they go onto the next question, you can click what ever one you are with that question and not making the question ahead disappear.

after talking to Karen

Ideas on what I can work on and continue on working for my app site.

6 question part to have little indication that user can inter ate with like a yes and no slide, tick ect.

And getting my styling started that can be simple but still link in with the theme and calmness.
Donation page that the QR Code page will work and make it since its a good idea. User scenario will become to three use.

Working on app

New phone, idea and looking and exploring

Main app page for downloads and animal spca apps out there.
there isn't much that is out there but they are pretty good ones and have lots of informations and easy navigation to each part.

Information and layout for two of the apps looks at are similar. they do have the profile for each animal they have on there which I didn't know before hand when I started with this assessment. But with this in mind, I had in mine is a little extra and making it more basic and to the point for the user. Since these are based over seas, i think it would be good and late to change my mind with something else and good for us in the community.

looking at phones

Thinking and looking at smart phones, one interesting thing is that the 'back' button.

On i-phones, there is no back button on the phone so that the app for the user will need a back button.
But as for Samsung, there is already a back button on the phone where the user will go there automatically to go back to the page that they are on.

So now needing to think that if the user is downloading this phone on a apple I-phone or on a Samsung or an android phone.

Will be adding a mini section

The idea of my design is maybe to simple where everything is similar, so i will add a mini part to it where before you go into see the animals profile, there is a section where u can read for the basic requirements for adopting an animal or type of animal. Eg: like a dog. where u need fenced place ect.

Looking at adding Breeds to it where it would make it easier and convenient for user who are looking for one particular type.

When searching on the spca site, there are limit types specified type breed. Thinking that it would be a good thing where i can have either
- colour type
- hair fluffy or short hair type.

OR
The sexuality of the animal.
Female or Male.

OR
the age range of the animal

SPCA Logo

More colour research

Looking at the colours, having a cold colour with a warm colour would make it pop out some informations or parts out. But want to make it still fun and enjoyable to look. So it would link to a lot of age group wen looking.

Colour type one.

Two colour tone. Complementy colour tone.

Colour type two.

Colour scheme

From the web-site, the main colour is blue (which is the colour of there logo and main colour) than white. On there side bars and hover overs, the colours are green and yellow.

- Light blue tone
- White
- Light tone green
- Golden yellow

Need to narrow it down

After talking and understanding the app meaning and ways to do it. My way of thinking was still towards the web-site design and being to brood. Need to set myself to think what links and work together that I will go towards on way and that it has a purpose.

looking at my plan so far, and talking about it, i can look at

=>  Adopt (with stories behind it)  List to think about it/ Link to "Interest'
       with lost and found together.
=>  Donation with Adopt stories
=>  Stories

People will use this site when they are bored and want to have a read about animal stories.
OR
are animal fans and want to keep updates with the local community and help and give a hand with donations.

Chosen Topic to do - WELLINGTON SPCA

I have chosen to do the Wellington SPCA as for my app for this project.
Not only because I really Love animals, but looking at there web-site, it would be nice to have an app for them for other animal family can go to and know them a bit more.

The idea of loosing a pet and wanted it to be found, SPCA is always the first to know when an animal are found and help reunite, and also the a banded homeless animals where they are looking for a new home to go to.

Main apps pages that I'm thinking of having.

Home starting page.
Tabs page with everything on it to go to.
     - Adopt  =>  Tab box icons with animal type names  => animal lists  =>animal story profile.
     - Lost animals  => Form box to fill up
     - Found animals page  =>  Tab box icons with animal type names  => animal lists
     - Events  =>  Month Calander  (Highlight or Icon on the date box) =>   Event Info page  AND OR aswell,  =>  sign up
     - Donation
     - Map  =>  Location  => Direction
     - Sharing page
     - Pet Care

Looked at the websites of the three sites/app i can do

Main page when going onto the Wellington Zoo page.

Colour tone: Nature Colour. ( Green, brown, yellow tone ) Ease for the eye to look at.  not harsh and hard.
Layout and style: Centred, tabs on the top and mini / other information on the side
Type of Information:  Tabs
                                   - Home page
                                   - Visit
                                   - Experience (or maybe live chat/ update with other users on the app/the zoo)
                                   - Events on / Whats's On
                                   - Animals ( what type of animals are there )
                                   - Get Involved ( Idea of having the feeding timetable for the animals that people can go to and experience with)
                                   - About the zoo ( information about the zoo)
                                   - The nest ( The map of the locations and the place ).

The top part of the web-site have a 'search' bar where the user can go there directly when in a hurry to find where they want to go or the animal that they want to find / information.

- If I'm going to have a search bar, It would be a good idea if I have a drop down or a pop up where its just that search place where nothing else is in the way.

the simple layout on the side for the sharing bottom where you can connect to social media are easy to see. The Icons are easy enough to tell what they are for so the text are not needed to be there if Its going to be on an "app".

Ideas for these social media icons
- Have just the logo/icon
- Having it at either of the:
  _ event page
  _ photo page
  _ News / Update page

This part is like a "Events button / Page to go to".
A mini calendar and or planner for the day you can write and save to your phone would be handy to make one.

Drop downs when you hover over the main tab/title section that your going into.
I was thinking that instead of drop downs when your using it on your phone. would be a good thing where a 'pop up' or even a 'icons' appear on screen to go into.

Main page when going onto the Wellington SPCA page.

The SPCA colour scheme. Blue and white
There is an advertising/ moving bar underneath the tabs where its kinda not ideal where if there is a drop down bar but in this case, there isn't. its just a click tab button where it would take you to another page.
The layout is just centred and that everything is just going down one after another.
Its good that the first and main info you get right away is the Link to the open hours as most people are always wanting to find out and the location/walking map link to the area place its in.

The idea of having that info is great but the style is not ideal for users as its just a sentence line at the top of the text page.

At the bottom of the main page, More News and information Links are placed there so it is easy for users to click into.

This is at the bottom of the pages. It links really well from the top part where you dont have to roll back up to the top where u can than change to another page your looking for. This is a really and useful design to have for user friendly for the web-page site, and its being used and going though out the whole site (bottom) but knowing that an app isn't like a web page with a top and bottom of the page, this wouldn't able to work in my design for the app page.
It would be a top main tab instead of having two tabs.

on the side of the main page with the main text messages, there are tabs and sections where you can go and click into for the main things your after.

at the very top of the page.

Pages / tabs I can have.
- Donation
- Sign up to be a member or sign in
- Contact page
- Adopt page
- Lost pet page
- Event page

Main page when going onto the Endangered animal app page.

Actual app page (ref: from google play android apps)

Not the best app ever for these animals that wants to call out to the viewers. the design is not done up well with good navigations and working around it.
Its got the nice feature of the animals list that is showing there are different parts to it like different types and than when u go inside it, it will show you what animal is listed under that category.

With the image of the 'spider' its like an image of the animal type and than with icons to tap where you Know about that animal or insects and than go next.
The buttons are places in a good place at the bottom with the arrows on each side for left and right.
Doesn't show and indicate much with the comments and Voice notes part where you have a chance to take notes about that type of animal / insect for later on reference or something.

there is nothing interesting and popping out on this app for me. but it is good to know what is there and they have one app for it for people to use. This app would need more improvements for sure to make it user friendly and good and understanding.
